What an honor! On Monday, we we were visited, at IOLANI, by a group of hula dancers from Sendai. These ladies came to thank ManoaDNA for Visiting the area shortly after the March 11th tsunami disaster. I don’t think I have ever been so touched. They presented ManoaDNA with a certificate of thanks. It was handwritten because they have no supplies for printing. Beautifully done in the old way- with pen and ink. This group is traveling around the island to just say thank you to all in Hawaii who have worked hard to bring them some relief and help.

For those who don’t know…Nick and Lloyd went with Hawaii tourism Japan to visit some of the shelters in the hardest hit areas in Miyagi prefecture. It was a small gesture, but brought some joy to those who have had their lives torn apart. Alex finished his final final exams and followed into Tokyo shortly after. Aloha to yoko and the ladies of the Sendai .

Just because I have nothing to do, I decided to open the store on SUNDAY in anticipation of Father’s Day. Today and next Sunday- only! Don’t get used to it though. It is just for these two Sundays. We are trying to make it a little more convenient for our customers. At IOLANI on Kona Street we have two versions of the printed aloha shirt- the traditional fitted shirt and the contemporary fitted shirt. We also have a new line of shirts for the man in your life- especially if he is a fashion forward kind of guy. This shirt is on the cutting edge of style- it’s our solid body, dry fit shirt with just a touch of print. Alex wore the long sleeve version last night on stage. It looked way cool… Nick wore the short sleeve- another good look.

If you aren’t sure where we are located- just drive down Pensacola Street. Turn left on Kona and go up the ramp on your left! So easy! We are on top of SIDE STREET just a block ewa of Ala Moana. Hope to see you soon!
